Tourists consider Iran a safe country: official

In spite of “negative propaganda”, foreign tourists view Iran as a “hospitable, safe and peaceful” country, Soltanifar stated.
He also said, “The number of foreign tourists is increasing day by day.”
According to statistics, over four million tourists travel to Iran annually, the CHTHO chief said.
“We seek a media link to develop tourism and attract more foreign tourists to the country,” Soltanifar stated.
He also urged experts to propose a good strategy to attract more tourists, adding that launch of a “tourism channel” by the national broadcaster (the Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting) is an issue that is being sought.
Using some satellite channels to introduce monuments and tourist spots in the country is another issue under study, he added.
Elsewhere in his remarks, he said the “security” in Iran is one of the most important priorities for foreign tourists, which does not exist in many countries.
Commenting on providing security for domestic and foreign tourists, Soltanifar said there is a good coordination between security officials and police forces in this respect.
