Iran mulling ways to cut dependence on oil revenues, Larijani says

Iran mulling ways to cut dependence on oil revenues, Larijani says

“We should try to reduce dependence of the next year’s budget on oil because we should alter our path and shift our focus to other resources for the country’s growth and progress,” Larijani told a number of managers, officials, and entrepreneurs in the northwestern city of Ardebil on Tuesday, Fars news agency reported.

Larijani, who was in Ardebil to inaugurate an energy village, said, “We should prepare the needed grounds to truly move towards sustainable development, relying on the resistance economy, as ordered by the Supreme Leader.”

Elsewhere in his remarks, Larijani decried Israel’s recent attack targeting members of Hezbollah resistance movement in Syria, saying that the “terrorist moves” by the occupying regime have seriously endangered the Middle East region, the Tasnim news agency reported.

“The Zionist regime is playing a fundamental role in terrorist operations, which have intensified situation in Syria and Iraq,” he said.
