Iran-Azerbaijan relations grow deeper in one year

The meeting was held Wednesday evening in a friendly atmosphere in the Swiss city of Davos which is hosting the 45th annual meeting of the World Economic Forum (January 21-24).

The two said that last year's visit of the Iranian and Azerbanijani presidents which took place on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum annual meeting in 2014, was a turning point in promotion of bilateral cooperation between the two countries.

Nahavandian and President Aliyev also stressed the need for expansion of Tehran-Baku cooperation in the fields of tourism and medicines.

The World Economic Forum in Davos is participated by a large number of world leaders including Prime Minister of Turkey Ahmet Davutoğlu, French President François Hollande, German Chancellor Angela Merkel, Pakistani Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, Italian Prime Minister atteo Renzi, President of the Swiss Confederation Simonetta Sommaruga, Presidents of South Africa Jacob Zuma and that of Tunisia Beji Caid Essebsi and Premier of the People’s Republic of China Li Keqiang.

Some 1,500 businessmen and 1,000 companies as well as international organizations and leading religious, cultural and academic figures are attending the major economic event.
